Ten Cats Laughing is acoustic duo Guy and Lisa Dicharry. Some of our music is original, we dare say singer songwriter, and played in a style which could be described as Americana-roots-folk-country-bluegrass-eclectic-comedic. As a duo we strive to make a big sound. We are mostly upbeat, occasionally quieter, and we pull material from alot of different places. Guy plays some of the instruments and Lisa plays the other ones. Some of the instruments include guitars, resonator, mandolin, blues harp, and the other instruments include banjo and guitar. Guy and Lisa grew up in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Lisa's diverse musical roots also include the music of her ancestors from Kentucky and Ohio. Guy's musical roots and influences are decidedly non-diverse and originate almost entirely in South Louisiana. We live next to the Rio Grande in Los Lunas, NM.
Lisa: I am inspired by Bill Keith, Lucinda Williams, Grace Slick, Leonard Bernstein, Maria Muldaur, Emmy Lou Harris, White Stripes, anyone named Joni-Joan-John-June-Jane, Timbuk 3, my farm animals, Tony Joe White and many other southern roots musicians too numerous to count.
Guy: I listened to all of the music of South Louisiana while growing up there, including the rhythm and blues of the region, "Sing Along with Mitch" records, Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton on television, Delta blues, folk, the Chipmunks, rock, and Cajun music. My guitar playing has been influenced by Doc Watson, George Harrison, Django Reinhardt, Eric Clapton, Jerry Reed, Mick Taylor, Freddie Green, Keith Richards, Clarence White, and every guitar player that I have tried to steal licks from.
We have played music just about all our lives and will play just about anytime or anywhere. And by the way, the cover art is by that great woodcarver, Kimo Minton.

wonderful blend of traditional and original Louisiana songs
author: Zack Stauber
The Dicharry clan has music in their blood, and this CD proves it. Their specialty is (mostly) accoustic Lousiana folk music, and this album is a mixture of traditional music in both English and French as well as quite a few of their modern original songs. If you like guitar and banjo you'll love this. The lyrics are humorous, heartbreaking, and warm ing all at once. The recording quality is excellent. The album is a pleasure to listen to, and I'm eagerly awaiting a second album.
