The story of "East Meets West" begins one sunny Phoenician afternoon. Stretched between the rooms of a small studio apartment by ΒΌ inch cable we tracked 8 lines of audio live to ADAT. Over the course of the next few months we spent available evenings doing overdubs, harmonies, solos, experiments with various gadgets and instruments, and alternate arrangements. We brought in friends (and crickets) pausing occasionally so planes could fly by. The album is very much a product of the environment in which it was created; very open and raw. Between the day jobs, weddings, and overseas vacations, we came up with a blue print of what we wanted to hear, but the recording process unfolded slowly and organically. The body of music is a diary of life that spans years, emotions, and coasts. East Meets West...and everything in between. Enjoy.

First time I heard "Better Ways to Spend the Day" I was most impressed by the stength of the guitar. Brian Chartrand's vocals and guitar are an incredible stand out but the complement by Kaleb Anderson with rhythm on drums and Peter Venti on keys and harmony is an outstanding combination. The tracks are tight and earthy not commerically over done but polished enough to be easy for listens.

I loved this CD even before it got to me. I'd heard four of TDO's tunes on their Myspace page, and the rest of the songs on the CD are definitely just as good. High production quality simply makes outstanding material shine that much more. This is a must-listen, and makes a welcome addition to any music collection. BUY IT!
