Album Notes

Songs about War is an EP exploring tones of a more raw, open, and dark sound. The songs focus on fighting at home and abroad, as well as the battles fought inside. We make good use of a resonator guitar in both songs, giving the album a feel much like Ben Harper's "Welcome to the Cruel World."

'Heart Grow Cold' is a fast-moving ballad that describes a young man trying to make the transition into life as a soldier, but who doesn't want to become hardened by the brutalities of war.
"I know that I'd sooner lose my way back home than forget what it feels like to feel."

"Let Love Die" is a slower tune that brings things a bit closer to home, describing the wars fought between ordinary people.
"Only when we choose not to try will our love die."

The cover art was painted by Shaun Ivie.
