Album Notes

Presented once a year at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, "Ten Grands" features ten grand pianos and ten concert pianists playing a variety of classical and modern pieces both simultaneously and individually.

Concert proceeds benefit The Snowman Foundation, which in turn benefits youth service groups, helps generate scholarships and music lessons for disadvantaged youth in Oregon and Southwest Washington, and helps purchase pianos for schools and organizations in need.

On April 7, 2007, Tom Grant (Portland’s jazz cat), Michael Allen Harrison (composer, producer, Steinway Signature artist), David Lanz (internationally known new age artist), John Nilsen (new age artist), Janice Scroggins (blues legend), Michael Kaeshammer (Canada’s boogie-woogie sensation), Barbara Roberts (classical master), Rosa Li (15-year old concert pianist), Katerina Cramarciuc (classical/jazz composer), and Dena DeRose (jazz standards) wowed a sold-out audience at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, in Portland, Oregon. The benefit concert raised more than $175,000 for the foundation. Many thanks to our supporters and sponsors.
