The songs, poems, and music selections of Give Yourself a High Five were recorded especially for three-to-five year-old children by Teaching Artists for the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) in Nashville. The pieces have a sense of play and joy that makes them wonderful teaching tools for parents and teachers. TPAC is especially proud of the outreach work of our Teaching Artists in schools. We share a commitment to the youngest students with the Wolf Trap Institute outside of Washington, DC, and it is their Early Learning Through the Arts model that we use in providing residencies to pre-schools, especially Nashville’s Head Start program. Many of these songs were written through partnerships with inspiring Head Start teachers and it it to these strong, creative, loving educators that the the album is dedicated.
This CD is a winner of a Parents' Choice Gold Award.
