Album Notes

Discover the warm sound of vintage Amsterdam Americana.

These Dutch guys sing harmonies with 5 voices and sure know how to play their instruments: dobro, pedal steel, mandolin, banjo, telecaster, some more guitars, and even cello, tuba, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, saxophone and blues harp. From dreamy folk to hi-speed bluegrass. With guest musicians and influences from all directions, from balkanpop to bebop. The result is a rich, creative, humorous and inspired album with the vintage sound of Amsterdam Americana.

The Tennessee Studs play together since 1999 and are a popular roots band in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. They toured the US West Coast together with their friends Whiskey Puppy and did a couple of shows as a trio in Toronto, Canada. In 2000 their debut File Under Urban Bluegrass was released, followed in 2005 by And They Fell To The Cold Hard Clay.
All You Can Eat is their highly regarded masterpiece.

You haven't lived til you've heard the Tennessee Studs, from Amsterdam.

You might *think* you've been leading a full, rich life, but if you haven't heard the Tennessee Studs yet, your world is incomplete. Their newest CD shows the power of bluegrass to transform talented, well-trained Dutch musicians into lunatics. It is beautifully sung, played, and recorded, and the songs range from tender to devilish to freaking hilarious. (Try to stop singing Apple Pie. You can't.) i wish the Tennessee Studs lived at my house. I laughed. I cried. I ate all I could eat.
