Album Notes

Ten Pound Strike is a four-piece alternative/post-grunge band based in New York City that just released its sophomore 7-song EP in November 2005. The band plays a hard-hitting hybrid of rock music with strains of punk, grunge and blues. With a raw, immediate delivery and stripped-down production, the music draws comparisons to early Nirvana, Pixies, Queens of the Stone Age, and Jane’s Addiction.

Live, Ten Pound Strike is explosive and unpredictable. The scowling vocals, gutsy guitars, and overall bravado earned top nods at this year's MEANY Fest and opportunities to play with national acts Clutch, Monster Magnet, and Josh Todd. Having built a solid and loyal fan base, TPS performs extensively in New York and throughout the Northeast.

The "Pogies" EP was recorded in a two-day marathon at NYC’s Cutting Room, with production credits going to Dylan Margerum and mastering credits to Nathan James at Jigsaw Sound.
