Flavorful !

This five-man band cooks up a potent brew of improvisational jams combined with lyrics that range from insightful to down right funny. Four of the five players sing, adding vocal harmonies to an already hot ten-track collection. Their music combines rock, blues, jazz and funk. The whole CD is a winner with its savory mix of improvisational instrumentation, heavy riffs and complex grooves. 'Jungle Cat' the opening track is a funky tale about a dangerous women. It starts off with hearty horns that meld into a cool beat and spicy guitar licks. It subtly flows into the second song entitled 'skLorilla' a witty warning that you can't take it with you. Key points are accented with original experimental jams. M.U.T. is a funky instrumental that showcases the talents and chemistry of the band. In Search of Ten Ton Chicken is a high quality, flavorful CD!

Ten Ton Chicken hatches big jam rock CD
author: Deryl Burns
In Search Of.... Ten Ton Chicken is a fun filled rock CD with hints of soul, jazz and groovy undertones. This very diverse Jamband CD is well balanced with solid rifs, catchy lyrics and terrific extended jams.
Every song on In Search Of... is a keeper and each offers its own bit of originality, making it a worthy CD for all kinds of music fans looking for something upbeat and fun. The drums and bass lay a solid foundation upon which the keys, guitar and sax build layers of smooth and sometimes frenzied rock. This is a rare Jamband CD with mass appeal.

In Search of Ten Ton Chicken, find one great CD.
author: Bob Platt
What a great CD. In Search Of.... is a ten song epic ranging in likeness from Phish to the Average White Band. This CD features timeless grooves borrowing from many influences to create a very original sound. There is solid song structure and development in each piece. Ten Ton Chicken has no evident alpha instrument in the band. The music gives off a teamwork type of feel creating a very full sound (Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys, Sax). Lyrics can go from soulful and bluesy to down right ridiculous. Despite the usage of funny lyrics the music is much more sophisticated than witty alternative pop rock. But like many Jam Band CDs, In Search Of.... is hard to classify. The diversity of the tracks makes it even harder. This CD needs to be experienced (subsequently enjoyed) to be classified by the individual.
Jungle Cat and Sometimes are my raunchy, smoky, bluesy favorites. Horscht and M.U.T. are two powerful, anthem-like instrumentals. The rest is Gold.
I know Ten Ton Chicken from the Home Grown Music Network. I recently bought the CD there and liked it so much that I'm now looking for more info from the band. That's how I found CD Baby (Cool site).

Tasty Chicken

I just can't say enough about this CD. I just LOVE it. It's such an adventure to listen to the entire disc. Every song is so unique and original. Some of the songs have deep meanings and some are just silly, but even the silly songs have insight. And the instrumentals are very intricate and fun to listen to. This is in my top ten CDs of all time.
