BIOGRAPHY
TERESA NEAL
Teresa Neal has a unique blend of musical influences from Austin, Atlanta and Nashville...her own style in today's musicplace. Experience, dedication and talent shine through when you hear the well crafted songs and unique style that Teresa has developed through her years of singing, writing and recording. Listed below are some of the notables she has worked with:
Bill Lowery - Atlanta based former NARAS president who was the first to recognize Teresa's talent. During her time there, she was a staff writer/artist for Lowery Music and did most of her recording backed by the future Atlanta Rhythm Section. Teresa also screened material for Lowery Publishing and was instrumental in the signing of Steve Dorff ,who went on to be a multi-Grammy award winning songwriter.
Buddy Buie - Produced Teresa's first recordings for Lowery. Buddy also produced The Classics IV, The Atlanta Rhythm Section and B. J. Thomas.
Chips Moman - Signed Teresa to an exclusive artist/writer contract. Chips was also producer for Elvis Presley, Roger Miller, Paul Davis & Erma Thomas, to name a few. She also did some studio work for Moman, playing drums and adding background vocals for Steve Dorff and Paul Davis.
Pete Drake - Teresa signed an exclusive artist/writer contract with Window Music and worked with Pete for two years. She was working during that time with a fellow singer/songwriter, Pam Rose. Teresa also did studio work there playing drums on demo sessions for David Allen Coe and guitar work for various artists. Pete was a master steel guitar player who worked with George Harrison, Tammy Wynette, Ringo Starr and many others.
Bob Tubert - Bob was a mentor to Teresa for many years and eventually became her manager. She was a staff writer for Excellorec Music and Bob helped Teresa get a major recording contract with CBS/Playboy Records. Bob has mentored and managed other acts such as Lori White and
Shelby Lynne.
Eddie Kilroy - Produced Teresa's self titled inter-
nationally released album for CBS/Playboy Records. Teresa received royalties for many years from that effort, from the U.S., Belgium and most notably from Brazil. Eddie also produced all of the #1 records for Mickey Gilley.
Billy Cox - Here's an interesting bit of trivia. Teresa played drums in a band with Billy, former bass player for Jimi Hendrix.
Teresa is now based out of Austin, going back to where her musical career began. She has recently completed an independent, self produced CD, "GREEN LIGHT" . Bryan Cumming, whose musical credits include work with Sha Na Na, Billy Vera and the Beaters and K.T. Oslin, was associate producer and musical advisor.
Teresa is a talent who has truly come into her own. Sit back, listen and enjoy!
