Album Notes

“I’ve waited a long time for this record, and my unrealistically high expectations have actually been exceeded.” -- Duncan Warwick, Editor, Country Music People

"Teri Joyce is simply an extraordinary songstress, Texas style." -- Rosie Flores

Kitchen Radio is the eagerly-awaited debut collection of fourteen original tunes from Teri Joyce, the gal who wrote Marti Brom's timeless ‘Blue Tattoo‘. Co-produced with legendary Texas voice Justin Trevino and featuring two new duets with Roger Wallace, Kitchen Radio is packed full of honky tonk heroes: Jim Stringer, Dave Biller, Lisa Pankratz (Dave Alvin, Ronnie Dawson) T Jarrod Bonta, and Brad Fordham (Hayes Carll, Jerry Jeff Walker), and includes special guests Brennen Leigh, Cindy Cashdollar (Asleep at the Wheel), Floyd Domino, Kevin Smith (Dwight Yoakam, The Derailers), Bobby Flores, Eamon McLoughlin (The Greencards), and Ruby Jane Smith.

Teri Joyce sings the songs that built the honky tonks and writes the songs that will keep them standing. Her songs have been covered by such roots royalty as Marti Brom, Roger Wallace, Ted Roddy, Karen Poston, and Rick Broussard. Teri's ball-of-fire stage presence and honest country voice have delighted crowds for more than a decade, with her original classics and the country gold she loves to mine. In 1996 Teri joined super showman Ted Roddy in forming the Tearjoint Troubadors, with Teri as rhythm guitarist, co-writer, and featured vocalist. The band’s 2000 album Tear Time reached #1 on the Freeform American Roots Chart, and was voted among FAR’s top ten best records for that year. Teri also launched Teri Joyce and the Tagalongs, who continue to deliver a sizzling 60s/70s Texas honky tonk sound and feature Teri's dynamic duets with long-time singing partner Roger Wallace. The band began with a three-year residency at the world-famous Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon, and moved beyond Texas to five European tours and counting.

Although Teri is small in stature, she likes a big show, and she looms like a giant to those who remember a time in country music when you could still cheat in a song and smoke in a bar. Turn up the volume on Kitchen Radio and let's all go back there together...

This album shows off Teri's exceptional song writing skills along with her sweet voice and top notch pickin that she obviously absorbed through the music her family played to her as a child.
