Album Notes

Terramara's third release, Dust & Fiction, finds the band moving in a new direction. Once described as "the second coming of Steely Dan", this Minneapolis-based group has now fashioned a new album more reminiscent of XTC and the Beatles. First class songwriting meets quirky, sonically adventurous production. While retaining much of Terramara's signature sound: piano-based songs with rich vocal harmonies and clever lyrics, this new collection of powerpop gems is more guitar-driven, with a modern rock edge to the production. Dust & Fiction contains a variety of moods and styles, some serious, some playful, but always catchy.

Lyrics for this album are at www.terramara.com.

Terramara is the brainchild of Minneapolis singer/songwriter Rob Meany and formed in 1999. The band has released three albums of original music, including their latest, Dust & Fiction (June 2008). The group has developed a reputation for making smart, catchy pop-rock songs laden with adventurous harmonies and funky grooves. Critics have often compared them with rock giants such as Steely Dan, Sting & The Police, and XTC.

Over the past few years, the band has received several awards: grand prize winner in the Positive Pop Song Contest in 2005; Second place in the rock category of the Billboard World Song Contest; and grand prize winner of the WB Minnesota's "Strictly Original" New Music Competition, a televised battle-of-the- bands in 2005.

Another Terrific Album

For fans of Terramara\'s past albums, their latest will not dissapoint. The songs and production value are so impressive. This is probably Rob Meany\'s finest set of recorded vocals. Terramara is the best band America has not heard of. They deserve a spot in your CD player, if you like creative melodies, 1st class musicianship, and thoughtful lyrics.
