Album Notes

I have been singing and playing the piano since the early age of eight, and have sung in numerous choirs, from grade-school through adulthood, and had been doing solo work at the local church level for many, many years ... but it has only been in the last few years that I have felt a calling to minister to others through music. I was 44 years old before I recognized that the gift had come from God, and that He had been calling me to use it. I found so many reasons and excuses not to ... until He sent a friend into my life who gently reminded me that God works in HIS time, that He was ready to use me NOW, not twenty years ago, and that God used Sarah, even when she was in her nineties. Once I surrendered the gift to Him and promised Him I would share my voice - His voice! - with others, He began to bless it from that very day. Thus, my first CD, "Bless These Hands", was born. I began to see that God truly had a plan for my life. He began putting people into my path almost immediately to help me with this project ... they were among His most precious gifts to me. He showed me that He meant business and that "When God leads you to it, He will get you through it"! In other words, "What God appoints, He anoints!" He did not let me down. He has provided me with many opportunities and I am so grateful that I felt His hand nudging me, helping me to recognize the opportunities, leading me gently through those open doors. He led me into some uncharted territory, areas in which I was not quite comfortable, but He always assured me that He had brought me thus far, and was not going to let me fail now! The music on this album is simply a way of sharing what is on my heart, in order that I might minister to others' hearts. I've learned to trust Him more. And that has been a heady trip, indeed!
