Inner Journey

Terri Liles Mason is the creative spirit behind the music that involves a focus on honoring and celebrating the universal principal side of positive feminine life and mother earth. Teaching in workshops devoted to inner peace and harmony from her home in Connecticut, her expertise and knowledge in this subject is only reinforced from her educational background. Everything now becomes one, when devoting her expertise and knowledge as a teacher, into positive influential music as composer and performer on her debut album. Om Gaia is her first release reflecting her perspective focus in expressing oneself in a positive manner to increase self image through music. Terri’s music is creating quite a sensation internationally, having performed before a large audience in the recent Earth Day opening in New York City’s Grand Central Station, where she introduced herself and the Om Gaia album. Another reason for her to celebrate is the over 120 online radio stations playing her music around the world, a # 4 spot on the World Radio Top 100 chart, and 3 songs retaining the # 1 Top New Age songs with Indie Music charts for 12 weeks. The 3 songs holding that position are title song Om Gaia, Begin Again, and Eleyakeha’s Lullaby. Om Gaia is her first release, reflecting her perspective focus in expressing oneself in a positive manner to increase self image through music. The title song Om Gaia is a positive blend of mid tempo instrumental rhythms that are surrounded by Terri’s beautiful vocals, sung with an apparent soft and sensual touch. Mother earth is celebrated by inspiring thought filled lyrics, announced to all by her beautifully deep and rich blending of vocals, instilling thoughts of an ancient realm in our distant past that transforms into the present. Begin Again is an upbeat song with a pleasant mix of vocals, while Eleyakeha’s Lullaby is a slower paced celestial song featuring Terri’s soft vocals that seem to lull you into a contented frame of mind sure to please anyone. Looking toward the future, this female New Age artist has accomplished much in transforming her teaching skills of obtaining positive vibes into a vibrant musical journey that she has just offered the music world. I expect we will hear more from Terri.

“Om Gaia: Songs of the Past, Present, and Future of the Earth” is the debut release by Terri Liles Mason, a sacred music artist, spiritual coach, and a teacher of evolving consciousness. She is also one of the first people in the US to be trained in Reflection Process Therapy. Mason started singing and writing songs in 2006, after spending seventy-two hours chanting sacred mantras. She wrote her first song, “Ancient Mother, Beloved Children,” within days of that experience. This song appears on “Om Gaia,” which she recorded with Grammy-nominated producer, Paul Avgerinos, who also provides all of the instrumental accompaniment, male voices, and vocal harmony arrangements. The ten tracks are all vocals with rhythmic, trance-like instrumental accompaniment that has a mildly exotic flavor. Mason’s voice is hypnotic and earthy as she honors the magic of the sacred feminine. On her website (www.omgaiamusic.com), Mason provides meditations, the lyrics to her songs, and Goddess Messages to aid others in their own transformational journeys. Full of hope and positive energy, the music provides a very warm and uplifting experience for the listener.
“Om Gaia” opens with “Invocation,” a brief song to the Goddess. The title track is a 13 1/2 minute spiritual chant that commemorates the year 2012, when the Mayan calendar ends as does an age of mankind. It is believed that Mother Earth will complete one sacred journey and begin anew during that year. “Eleyakeha’s Lullaby” is the gentlest of lullabies and reminds us to connect with our childlike natures and to find a world where our childhood dreams come true. “Elixir of Love” celebrates the divine union of Gaia and her long-separated masculine self, bringing bliss to all. A slow and sensual love song, this is one of my favorites. I also really like “Begin Again,” which lovingly urges us to move forward into our unknown potential, remembering what brings us joy. Gentle and playful, it’s a warm invitation. “Beautiful Beings” concludes the journey with joy, hope, and encouragement set to a catchy melody.
“Om Gaia” is a very upbeat and spiritual musical experience that celebrates Mother Earth and all who inhabit it.
