The Terry Disley Experience – The Jazzcracker and Other Delights

Terry Disley recorded and performed with Bryan Ferry, Sir Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Van Morrison, Madness, Lou Rawls, Sir Mick Jagger, Eddie Henderson, Urbie Green, Cecile Payne, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Tom Jones, Bon Jovi, was musical director for Eurythmic's Dave Stewart and worked on 5 major motion picture soundtracks. Receiving the UK's Young Jazz musician of the Year Award with his group Macondo he became a regular pianist at Ronnie Scott¹s jazz club in London where he opened shows for McCoy Tyner, Cedar Walton, Jimmy Heath, and Monty Alexander.

As original keyboardist with Acoustic Alchemy he toured and recorded through the 80's and 90's, wrote many of their top radio hits, and recorded 6 CD's including 2 Grammy nominated albums. He now tours with Alchemy as special featured guest artist

The much-anticipated brand new CD release from the Terry Disley Experience is now available. “THE JAZZCRACKER & OTHER DELIGHTS” is the title of this new release and is described as a “Fun filled Musical Holiday Experience.”

The album features unique Terry Disley jazz quintet arrangements of all nine pieces from Tchaikovsky’s ever-popular Nutcracker Suite, (now christened “the Jazzcracker Suite”) together with an additional six original cool jazz renditions of popular seasonal songs. Total running time of the CD is 79 minutes.

Featuring Bay Area jazz greats Erik Jekabson on trumpet, Alex Murzyn on saxophones, clarinet and flute, Terry Disley on piano, Dan Feiszli on bass and Alan Hall on drums this is an extra special and undoubtedly fun collection of original jazz and Holiday Classics.
