T'was the year of 1995, The Bell Island Centennial. It was also the year i returned from working in Halifax. Home sick, with a pocket full of songs, and a old four track recorder, i released my solo album " The Irish Thorn, Sea Tales". We worked with what we had, we played the best we could, and between the lines i found my self back home again on Bell Island.
The inspiration behind this album comes from my mother and father of the stories they told around the old oil stove. Mom would take the damper off & we'd watch the fire flicker on the ceiling above. Outside the snow gently fell, i am older now, and my parents have passed on. The old cassette tapes drag and have stood the test of time, With fear of loosing this part of my heritage, I am re-releasing this album, remixed & digital remastered in CD format for all my friends and family so they may pass the stories on to their children.
This album is dedicated to the memory of the storytellers, my parents Alex & Muriel Parsons. Forever your son.
