Album Notes

Songs of Mercy is a recording of spirituals and sacred classics originally presented in a live performance on February 23, 2002 as a benefit for South Suburban PADS, a Chicago area homeless advocacy program.

Christopher S. Terry, a Chicago native, began singing under his mother's tutelage at the age of four. He has been singing in church ever since. Chris is a graduate of Hillcrest High School, where he sang with the gospel choir. In 1993, he won first place in the Word of Life Bible College Vocal Competition. Chris is father to four beautiful children, living in Chicago, and still singing.

Mark W. Warnock began playing the piano at the age of six in his native Florida. As a high school student, he performed twice with the Treasure Coast Symphony Orchestra. Mark studied piano with Leonidas Lipovetsky at Florida State University, where he earned the Bachelor of Music Education in 1992. In 1996, Mark moved to the south suburbs to become Associate Pastor at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Country Club Hills. Mark now serves as worship pastor of First Baptist Church of Columbia, Illinois.

South Suburban PADS is an interfaith program providing shelter and supportive services to homeless persons. Compassion, hospitality and dignity are key characteristics of the PADS program. For more information or to volunteer, call (708) 754-4357.
