Nancy Terzian - Sultry, Simmering Sounds
author: Kathryn Russ
Well, I am supposed to write about the CD only, not the artist. But I have to break the rules. Nancy is a wonderfully warm person and her music is a reflection of what's inside her. Her songs are heartfelt and poetic. Her music reminds me of the songs played on WMVY on Martha's Vineyard, where I just was. This record is the perfect vacation soundtrack - listen to it enjoying sunshine, seagulls, kites in the sky, wine, seafood, music and while having meaningful conversations with friends.

When Nancy Terzian sings, you can't help but listen and believe every word. Her singing is so relaxed and inviting, you want to slip right into the story with her. And you just can't say enough about the band on this CD. Oh my God! These are best grooves I've heard in long time. Let's hope there's more where this came from.

A first rate, soulful meditation on love and heartache by a talented artist.
author: j. david carter
Former folk chanteuse Nancy Terzian has produced a soulful meditation on life and love that charts a new direction in her musical voyage. Buoyed by the contributions of Motown greats Reggie Young and Bob Babbitt, among others, Terzian delivers heartfelt musings on love and loss, not with a breathy whisper or a vicious snarl, but with a longing sigh of reflection and acceptance. Along with this turn to soul, Terzian stays true to her folk roots on the poetic "Running Through the Trees" and brackets the album darkly with "The Dirty Man" and "Angel", both shadowy forays into loneliness. Be sure to give this one a listen!
