Tex Beaumont's new album,"ROSE TATTOO" is an eccentric homage to the great innovators of country and rockabilly music, especially to those from Beaumont Texas (like the Big Bopper) and around there. The 13 songs, all composed by Tex, range from heartbreaking to bizarre. Every track is top quality for the type of song it is.
The promise seen in Tex's earlier works,"ONE EYED JACKS", which went to ECMA #1 when released by Elvis Costello's Demon Records, and "RESTLESS HEART", produced by grammy winner Bill Botrell, is stylishly fullfilled by "Rose Tattoo".
Great songs, beautifully produced by guitar legend Johnny Lee Schell. Players include Doug Lacy,Mike Finnegan, Tony Braunagel, Hutch Hutchinson, Joe Sublett, Doug Livingston, and Deborah Dobson. Minnesota Diva, Laura LaBine, sings backing vocals on several tracks.
This album is now, as of June 2, 2004, getting radio play in England, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Mexico, Finland, Italy, western states in the U.S., Canada,Australia, and India.

Return Of Hipster So Cal Country Mystic
author: Michael Macdonald
Rose Tattoo is a welcome and hip return by the myterious Tex Beaumont...a cool collection of Roots Rock, Border Music and Bar Room Country from a very unique mind. Imagine a hybrid of Buck Owens and Warren Zevon and you're halfway there. "Insect Woman" is Bo Diddley in the Honky Tonk while "They're Leaving Together" charts a man's descent into madness as he watches his girlfriend leave with another man. Then there's "Brushing My Teeth In Tequila".....This is Country Music that owes nothing to curent Nashville product. Essential listening.
