The group was formed when four members of The Macedonia Baptist Church located at 2810 Erato Street in New Orleans, La, three deacons and the bass singer and president of the choir, joined together and began singing during church services. They chose a name most fitting of their commitment, The Faithful Four Gospel Singers. The unique blend of classic gospel quartet mixed with the modern bluesy, jazzy guitar characterizes their music. The Faithful Four Gospel Singers made a quick change to The Faithful Gospel Singers when another member joined. They have been bringing their brand of gospel to the New Orleans area for three years. Both young and old fans love them as they continue to minister in song, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the New Orleans area. With their deeply soulful singing they lift up the name of Jesus in high praise and emotion and everyone enjoys singing along, dancing, shouting and praising the Lord with them. A "Faithful" listening experience puts you back in the glory days of gospel quartet music, but with the new flavored jazzy rhythmic foundation of the lead guitar. Everything is alive, unscripted and exciting. Some people run, some shout, some clap the hands, and others dance. From the jazzy, bluesy instrumental guitar to the soulful vocal bass lines to the upbeat and spirited lead vocals these guys are great! Louis Cooper (manager and guitarist) brings experience to this new group having been with several touring groups in the past. The Faithful Gospel singers can be found in and around town at religious congregations, festivals, street fairs, and community activities.
