Thaneco is Thanos Oikonomopoulos, a music composer and teacher from Patras, Greece. Thaneco finished his music studies in Polymnio Odeum (Kapodistriou 49, Patra) and was awarded the diplomas in Fugue and Piano. He has also studied composition and piano performance in Moravian College, Pennsylvania (USA), with famous American composer Larry Lipkis. In 1998 he graduated from Moravian with the B.A. in Music Composition. Since then, he is teaching piano and theory in Polymnio Odeum and is a basic member of local band "The Flow". At the same time he finds time to compose his own music which is a mixture of electronic,jazz,classical,and rock. Some people will call it experimental but I think it's difficult to categorize it. Thaneco uses a laptop with software synths, samples, and various old analogue and digital synths. He likes to use electric and acoustic guitars, and other instruments to blend with the electronic sound. Also, he is frequently collaborating with guitarist Mbousias Akis who brings fresh ideas to his music. Thaneco is currently working in his home studio in Patras and his goal is to make his music known to a large audience. He hopes you like it!
