Album Notes

Sometimes you hear music that speaks to your soul. The words, the melody, the beat, it fits. It's real. Sometimes when you hear music that's good, really good, you want to move, dance and scream all at the same time. Music is a release, music is art, music is fun, and music mirrors life.

THAXTON WARD is that kind of music. "Epic" music, as they call it, is exciting, compelling and memorable. It's music that is written to surpass the ordinary song. A high-energy rock band living in Nashville, THAXTON WARD's members are from the far corners of the country brought together by a passion for music that people want to hear.

Band front man Thaxton Ward captures the group's music best, "our songs are about people coming of age in a different generation-a different time and place where facing passion, love, hate, religion, war and life. We all have to find our own way. We have to experience what makes us who we are. The music we write isn't manufactured, it's real."

Writing and performing together for two years, the group's experience as musicians runs deep. Thaxton Ward, lead vocalist, grew up along the New Jersey shore performing in various clubs as a singer/ songwriter before moving to Nashville to pursue music seriously. Ryan "R.C." Jones of Orlando traces his musical roots to Orlando where he immersed himself in idols such as STP, Pearl Jam and The Doors. Meeting as teens, Joe and R.C. have played and written music together for the better part of a decade.

Venezuelan drummer Andres Garban brings seasoned Latin percussion talent to his position behind the drums, and bassist Carter contributes long-time multi-instrumental touring experience to the group and produced the band's first album in 2002.

The band has found a welcoming audience in their hometown of Nashville. Headlining popular venues such as Exit/In, 12th & Porter, 3rd & Lindsley and B.B. Kings, their fan base is as varied in demographics as their music is strong. THAXTON WARD can be heard currently on Nashville's 102.9FM The Buzz and has opened for super-acts Tonic, Filter and Nickleback.

As THAXTON WARD's footprint expands through vigorous self-promotion and a strong online presence, the band is eager to expand their touring calendar and performance dates. The 2004 release of the band's new album promise. is guaranteed to put Thaxton Ward on the rock music industry map...

I purchased this CD because I was intrigued by the name, and I was infectiously hooked. I am not sure if they are on a record label or not, but this group just may be the hidden Gem of the decade!
