The Balos Family: A family of nine that travels all around doing bluegrass gospel music. We do all gospel because this is a music ministry that the Lord has blessed us with. We desire to do the very best of our abilities so that we may bring honor & glory to our God! We decided as a family that we would be willing to travel all over. Wherever the Lord leads we will go! We do Churches, festivals, theaters, etc....
In the front of our bus(our home away from home) we have a sign made up that simply reads "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24:15.
Mike & his wife Ramona with their seven children all participate in this evangelistic music ministry.
"We began our musical adventure when two of our children (Bonnie and Jimmy) began taking violin lessons. It didn’t take long after that before everyone was playing a musical instrument of some kind.
Our family’s love of music began much earlier in life. Throughout the day you could often hear us singing together throughout the hallways and rooms in our house. On March-31-2002 our family played our first concert outside of our home church for a Easter Sunday service at Highland Park Baptist Church. We we’re all nervous but made it through alright, and decided to continue going out and singing together. We felt if God opened the doors, we would walk through them!
In 2003 our family purchased a 8 track digital recorder, worked hard and produced our first CD “Precious Memories“.
Throughout the years The Balos Family has been honored to play in many exciting venues including, Renfro Valley Barn Dance, Bean Blossom Music Park, and the Texas Troubadour Theater.
We’ve been honored to share the stage with many bluegrass artists including Doyle Lawson, Dailey & Vincent, The Isaacs, Audie Blaylock, Marty Stuart, Marty Raybon, Bobby Osborn, Paul Williams, New Found Road, Kenny and Amanda Smith, Special Consensus, Michael Cleveland, The Lewis Family, The Easter Brothers, And our good friends The Sullivan Family.
Our family has also played with many Southern Gospel artists including, The Booth Brothers, Collingsworth family, Chuck Wagon Gang, Jeff and Sheri Easter, and many others.
In 2007 Our family met our producer and good friend Russell Easter JR with the Easter Brothers at a concert in a local theater. Since then our family’s recorded 6 projects with them on Life Line Records label.
Our family has always desired to encourage believers and witness to the lost, God’s allowed us to do that through the songs we sing. After concerts people have said they were entertained, but more importantly they were refreshed and encouraged in Christ. "
