ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Words & Music Jon Bennett aka The Barbarian Invasion
Produced & Performed at Studio 33, Bristol, UK (April 2013)

The Barbarian Invasion started in Jan 2013 when I had a bunch of songs written over the previous couple of month with no home to call their own. Having been the songwriter for previous bands, I was always attracted to honest and truthful music, music that was genuine and pure. Wanting to write about what was personal to me and hoping that who ever listened to it would share some of the emotion that I was trying to capture.

The name "The Barbarian Invasion" came from the idea that however civilised we think we are, we are slaves to our emotions and act in ways that have been within us, as a species, for tens of thousands of years. We may think we're highly evolved, but how easily do we revert back to a more animalistic, barbarian way of thinking?

My hope is that you'll get something out of listening to this first single and I am currently working on the first "Barbarian" album "The Creature That Ate The Monster" which should be available to stream, download and enjoy by summer 2013.

Thanks for listening

Jon
