In March of 2006, The Blood Lines were made. They recorded a full-length album over the course of a week, before playing their second show ever opening for Constantines and Chad VanGaalen. The assembling, stamping, stuffing and numbering of 1000 cardboard CD cases was completed just in time for the band to hit the road a few days later. The tour was a success. The venue the band played in New York City instantly invited the band back to play during CMJ in November. In November, the band was hailed as one of the best things to come from the festival.
"Move over Arcade Fire and Stars and all you trendy Arts+Crafts bands. From Saskatoon in Saskatchewan come the future of alterno-pop-rock on their self-titled debut.”
-Harris Radio (New York, NY)
From there, The Blood Lines were invited on the road with Montreal band, The Dears. The Blood Lines album charted as high as #1 on college stations and received four stars from Toronto’s Eye Weekly, being named “Disc-overy of the week.” Their song “Modern Science” was named most played on XM Radio’s The Verge in November 2006 and their name graced CBC Radio’s best of 2006 list.
“One of the hottest new rock sensations…”
-See Magazine (Edmonton, AB)
With their sound being compared to everything from Deep Purple to Smashing Pumpkins, The Blood Lines are constantly striving to create new and interesting sounds that will warm your heart and make your soul shiver. In September 2007, The Blood Lines will bridge international waters, playing The Beijing Pop Festival with such acts as Nine Inch Nails, New York Dolls and Public Enemy. Look for a new album in the near future.
