Album Notes

Influenced by the cream of Pop and Rock music from the Rock and roll era through to the present day, The Brigadier (Matt Williams) writes melodic pop songs with heart melting chord changes and catchy choruses.
Having established a strong following in the myspace music community, Creation/Poptones boss Alan McGee was suitably impressed enough to offer The Brigadier a gig at his Death Disco night in Notting Hill, London.
Armed with a packed arsenal of timeless pop songs, The Brigadier has had radio coverage in the UK, USA and Europe, as well as magazine coverage locally.
The Brigadiers influences include The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Queen, The Divine Comedy, The Byrds, Nick Lowe, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones.
Debut album 'View from the bath' is a quirky and diverse selection of pop songs about love, loss, happiness and sadness and has had great acclaim from fans and peers alike!

REVIEWS

Brilliant, irresistible songwriting!
author: Jane Ellen
On the surface this is a catchy, irresistible album, filled with the sort of infectious British-flavoured pop you expect to put a smile on your face and lift your spirits. But don't let that initial hearing deceive you; Matt Williams is a clever and brilliant songwriter, whose insightful lyrics bear repeated listening. 'View from the Bath' is an amazing one-man effort as Williams alone is responsible for writing, arranging, singing, playing, and producing all 13 tracks. Although this isn't quite as unusual as it used it be, it is unusual to hear it done this well. I was going to say my favourite tracks are "It's So Funny", "Berkeley Square", and "Some Sort of Magic", but that would leave out "You've Got to Be" and nine other gems. My best advice? Buy the album and spread the word. The Brigadier is truly "Some Sort of Magic"!
