60's-influenced oboe rock at its finest! Catchy hook-filled gems throughout the album. A little dark at times, but mostly just fun!

Album Notes

The third album for The Chinch Bugs, "Broke" is the band's first release since 2006. Check out return guest appearances from Badfinger's Joey Molland on "Chardonnay" and from producer Brian Tighe (Hang Ups, Owls, Starfolk) on "Meg Likes the Weed". Those two songs, along with the title track and "Interstellar Girl" seem to be definite standouts. "Hurricane" is perhaps the most high-octane song the Minneapolis group has ever done. The Chinch Bugs have long been considered a party band, but their repertoire is expanding on "Broke" with serious topics such as the economy, self-loathing and regret, and death scattered throughout the album. Don't worry though, the fun is still there too. Enjoy!
