Album Notes
A very short Bio
Mike Coates started playing guitar when he was 7. He won his first award at the Syracuse war memorial when he was 11 playing Yesterday by the Beatles. He played in several bands over the next 10 years without satisfaction. His brother Larry started playing drums with Mike at age 12 . In 1986 Larry learned to play the bass and they formed their first band- 5 fingers in Wilmington NC in 1988. Mike moved to Gulfport Ms 1n 1990 where he met his second wife and wrote We Are Friends. Larry moved to Gulfport within the next two years and they continued to play in bands searching for that sound. Mike self taught him self Piano in 2001 and that added some new sounds but still was not the right sound. In 2010 Mike and Larry Got together to form The Coates Brothers Band. They decided to use Steve Kowrach - the previous drummer because he had been true to the band in over the years. It sounded good but was still missing something. In October of 2010 they met D.J.T - a guitar player at a Halloween party. Fate had met it's course and the band found the sound. Larry started writing new songs and they were off. At the end of 2012 they met and hired Pepper - a beautiful girl with a great voice. This completed the hunt for the right sound
