Friends Shuffled Apart is The Cohorts debut album, featuring 10 tracks that play the way a 45 minute rock ride should. The album was predominately recorded and mixed in the home studio of Cohorts front man James Thorogood before being sent for a final mastering.
Cuts from the album have been played on radio stations in 19 countries to date. United States, Germany, Netherlands, Australia, Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Poland, Canada, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal, Turkey, France, Central African Republic, Belgium, Macedonia, Luxembourg & Belarus.
The group has noted that every song on the album has been cited as a fan’s personal favourite. The most popular to date being ‘The One That Got Away’(Track 2). ‘Jodi’(Tr.1), ‘Definitely Different’(Tr.7), the slow building ‘Windshield’(Tr.10), and ‘Freaks Me Out’(Tr.3) certainly also have their share of supporters.
Aside from fronting the band, James Thorogood plays Guitar on the album along with Matt Clavette. Clavette performs the majority of the lead guitar. The Rhythm section features Marc Gibson on Drums and Dave Raude on Bass. Raude is no longer with The Cohorts. Thorogood is the band’s primary songwriter.
The band is hoping to release a sophomore effort in late 2011 or early 2012. Thorogood has also started recording a solo record with the help of Gibson on the drums.
