"I Believe in You" is one of several love songs written by C.R. Ecker and produced by Michael Stanton at his Bud Ranch Studios in Valencia, CA. This gem is performed by one of Hollywood's most acclaimed vocalists, Gigi Worth, known to many in the business for her studio and on-stage work with Christoper Cross and Kenny Loggins, plus her performance of long-running theme song, "I've Got a Friend in You" that started the popular "Nash Bridges" police drama each week with verve and flair.
Gigi's voice is unique in many ways, ranging from her lyrical clarity to her emotional interpretations of the music line. When you hear Gigi with us, or in any of the music, movie, commercial and T.V. projects she has been involved in, her signature sound is unmistakeable.
In the Fall of 2013, the original version of "I Believe in You," was one of five nominated for "Best Country Song of the Year" at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. But the song that made it to the finals was not this version, but a more down-tempo version sung by another vocalist.
Ecker considers "I Believe in You" his favorite composition to date, and felt it needed a more modern, 'up' feel to match its cadance of devotion and love. So the directions to Gigi in the studio were pretty simple -- "Sing it like you own it!"
Regarding the song itself, Ecker adds " 'I Believe in You' is much more than a straight-down-the-middle love song - warm, fuzzy and the like. Rather, when you listen closely to the lyrics, it is about a woman telling a man she has absolute trust in him. A woman like that is hard to find, but the woman who was the inspiration for this song and I have been together for 30 years, so the song, as we, endure!"
A heritage of music runs deep in our lead vocalist's family as it is very interesting to note that Gigi, who hails from Los Angeles, is the daughter of the late Gisele MacKenzie, one of the most favored Pop vocalists in music and television beginning in the mid-1950s. Her mother was the co-hostess of the very popular T.V. variety show, "Your Hit Parade," and after that, hosted a variety show of her own. It was during the years leading up to her stardom in America that Gisele MacKenzie, who originally hailed from Winnipeg, Manitoba, earned the title "Canada's First Lady of Song."
