'Twas the Brass Before Christmas was recorded live in Bethany Lutheran Church's sanctuary in December of 2011 during The Denver Brass' annual sold-out Christmas shows
The Denver Brass was formed in 1981 by some of Denver’s finest professional brass musicians who sought to create an all new, one-of-a-kind chamber ensemble, which would be in the forefront of brass performance. The trademark sound of The Denver Brass features an array of more than 13 distinct brass instruments, utilizing mutes, technical expertise to produce a rainbow of sound. Unique in the world as one of only a few professional large brass ensembles, The Denver Brass enjoys a success directly linked to its universal appeal. People from every background find inspiration in diverse programming – classical, jazz, Latin, world music and the inclusion of exceptional guest artists. Unexpected and unlikely guest artists such as bagpipers, steel pans, or banjo create exciting opportunities for new sounds and commissions. The Denver Brass is comprised of 14 friends with passions ranging from great brass music, to skiing, hiking, yoga, cooking, Colorado history, four-wheeling, and solving the world’s problems over a glass of fine wine or great Colorado beer.
