Album Notes

The Device sound is fresh, thoughtful, well-crafted songwriting a-la Fountains of Wayne/Wilco/Weezer blended with neuances of straight four-on-the-floor pop.

The band put out their first EP 'Hey industry!' in 2005 (freebie at shows!) and after 3 studio sessions and a few long breaks The Device finally releases the self titled full length in April 2008.

The Device was formed in 2003 by John Ireland and a few other post-punk D.C./Fairfax scenesters: Chuck Andrada (Smartbomb, Quitter UK), Arthur Myhre Scott (Swagman, the Freshmakers) and Eric Vislay (BIOHIO, Quitter UK).

Other pals who have recorded/performed under the Device banner: Jawn Long(Iceboxers, Smartbomb), Matt Rehfuss, Patrick Williams and Marc Capponi.
