Chemistry is what started it. After all, it couldn't have been coincidence that made husband and wife team Adriana and David Róze meet in high school chemistry class in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It felt more like destiny. Destiny, however, likes to take her time. Adriana left the desert to become a stage actor in New York, and David pursued music on his own in New Mexico. It would be several years before their paths would cross again. It was only when Adriana was producing a concert version of the musical Rent that she tapped David to play in the band, and their journey together took up where it left off.

In 1998, Adriana and David married. Soon after, The Endless was born in a warm, mosquito-ridden apartment on New York's Upper East Side. The band took its name from the anthropomorphic personifications of various aspects of mortal existence made famous in Neil Gaiman's Sandman graphic novels.  Front woman Adriana's powerful, swirling vocal qualities were a perfect match for David's diverse abilities with an array of instruments from cello to keyboards. David played with several bands in New York while working on The Endless, including Neycha and The Benjamin Cartel. His performances took him on tours of the country and performances at such NYC clubs as CBGB's and Izzy Bar.

The Endless' first concert was in 2000 to a packed audience on the closing night of the BMW Bar in Chelsea. Soon after, the band hit the road and took up residence in their new digs in Los Angeles. Working with collaborator Chuck Skelton, they released their first EP Grumpy Ghost in 2002 to rave reviews. A collection of songs reflecting on love, marriage, and loss, the album sold quickly on the internet and soon found its way into the famed Amoeba Music record store. The duo played tirelessly to promote the record at such venues as The Mint, The Crooked Bar, Molly Malone's, Kulak's Woodshed, and Highland Grounds.

Now, The Endless are proud to release their newest EP, the self-produced ...and i'm the queen of the moon. The album presents Adriana and David at their most intimate and honest, further honing a sound that is distinctly their own: electronic, emotional, ethereal. The songs are about building and destroying boundaries, about space and dreams, and finding peace.

    I got this CD because of the hurricane charity event. Just finished listening to it and it's great! I think the middle-end of the CD are particularly great tracks... will definitely check out more of this band in the future.

    I can't keep this CD out of my CD player. Every time I put something else in, some song from the endless demands to be played again. Silent is a great song, it jumped unbidden into my head after I had only heard it once, which is rare. Buy this now.

    I love this CD. For the first week and a half after I got it, I was compelled to keep it in my stereo. It is wonderful. Adriana's voice is beautiful and enchanting. David's musical talents are inspiring. The lyrics are intelligent and witty at times and oh so enjoyable.

    This duo exhibits exponential growth on this album. The lyrical content is clever, beautiful, disturbing, and true, all at once. As always with Adriana's voice, I get visible chills. David's sensitive playing supports and enhances what she puts forth, strengthening their sympathetic partnership. The messages in the music are steeped in mythology, prophecy, and the sounds of the ether. By the time Setting Sun kicks in this work feels epic to me, the music of superheroes racing speeding trains through a forest of things I cannot even begin to fathom. And Lee Miller is perfection. The web is spun, and I am caught. I cannot give it all the stars it deserves.

    The Endless have a nice thing going here. The music is varied in style/genre yet their style is unique. Adriana Roze has a gorgeous voice and along with David Roze makes some beautiful music.

    This second effort from The Endless does not disappoint. Adriana Roze has formed a trinity... she's part Juliet Capulet before the fall, part distanced daughter, and part forlorn subject for the feminized camera lens. She does so without dismay and apology. She seems to be working out the last of her grumpy ghosts, sending some away forever, giving hope to the ones that matter. Listen closely, she has much to share. David Roze's music must be heard and felt, words won't do his gifted talent justice. The urgency of 'Conspiracy', the light behind 'Ache', and the double exposure of 'Lee Miller', my personal favorite, prove that The Endless are growing up and out. Be brave, listen to this in the dark, but allow alittle moonlight in. Be bound by the siren singing.

    In their second EP, The Endless have taken a strong step forward in synthesizing a sound and texture that feels uniquely their own. Adriana's vocals are witchy--both compelling and fey. Her lyrics take you to that borderland that you inhabit alone in the middle of the night where you are all your best and worst at once. Dave's music is the Gatekeeper to Adriana's Otherland, both anchoring her and keeping you off balance with sudden shocks like an electric cello opening that hits hard and then a lyrical bridge that lures you back. This is a haunting, sweet, disturbing, potent recording. Get it.
