The First African Methodist Episcopal Church: Bethel’s FAMEBethel Chorale is proud to present One Church, One Faith, One Lord. This release marks the first commercial recording in Bethel’s 192 year church history, and is a proud milestone for our Music Ministry and our church at large. The music found on this disc- Anthems, Hymns, Spirituals, and Gospel- reflects the wide range of music one hears on average in our weekly worship services.
The FAMEBethel Chorale, comprised of members of Bethel’s various choral ensembles, serves as the musical arm of our church’s mission- to minister to the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and environmental needs of all people by spreading Christ’s liberating gospel through word and deed.
Located in Harlem, New York, Bethel serves as a vital part of community life. Under the leadership of our current pastor, Rev. Henry A. Belin III, Bethel has stretched its reach beyond the Harlem interior and now houses a wide array of ministries, which serve people throughout Manhattan, and its surrounding vicinities. Weekly, we at Bethel, welcome a diverse congregation of members, visitors from foreign countries, and both national and international dignitaries. We recognize that no matter what a visitor’s native language- music is indeed the language that reaches all people.
As such, with the music found on One Church, One Faith, One Lord- from the august pipe organ prelude to All Creatures Of Our God And King- from Trees to God Knows Just What He’s Doing- we seek to invite into your personal space a stillness and reverence, which will allow you to reflect on your journey. We pray that this music touches your life profoundly, and will urge you to take these words and songs and share them with others. The FAMEBethel Chorale stands united- soldiers for Christ- acknowledging that we are One Church, with One Faith, and that we serve One Lord!
