Album Notes

Born a grandson to Finnish immigrants, Dave Tak writes all the material for The Finnbillys using stories handed down from previous generations and putting them into his own words describing his kin's struggles and hardships along with their triumphs and success. These American Finns settled into Upper Michigan and the Iron Range in northeastern Minnesota working the logging and mining industries in the early 1900's. The music is written around the mandolin with tight country harmonies and edgy 70's guitar riffs creating a new genre Dave likes to call Finnbilly. The songs are well crafted and as far as The Finnbillys go.. Well they can pick and play a tune or two. So, go ahead and grab your favorite beverage, get comfortable and dig the sounds of The Finnbillys. Your toes will be tapping and you might even shed a tear or two, but you'll still feel really good after a listen.
