South Florida's musical landscape is littered with the wreckage of post-punk emo acts attempting to mimic the successes of their locally-grown predecessors. After a few seconds of listening to The Fluent's recently released debut EP, Apartments ,you'll come to realize that this band has something entirely different in mind. Some might call it post-hardcore, others post-prog with their touches of metal and the seemingly pre-requisite analog synth. Which ever sub-genre you choose, it will somehow miss the mark. Aggressive vocals, razor guitars and cunning lyrics crown this achievement.
