Album Notes
"Boys, it's like stadium rock played by an intimate folk three piece" - Harry Bird 2012

The Freedom Guilt Equation is a band, a blog and an art project rolled up into a single 3 person size package. Formed by Jess Humphries (Strange Behaviour, Tribe of Dan, Kerama) , Sid Harris (Strange Behaviour, Tribe of Dan, Burning Codes) & Jez Bayes (Who it appears can play anything with strings on it!) - The Freedom Guilt Equation play a combination of intimate acoustic honesty and sing-a-long choruses. Sometimes country-tinged, sometimes with a rock feel, the songs are one hundred percent honest. Formed after Jess suffering a major breakdown, the project is partly a documentation of the recovery process with all it's up, downs and detours. No subject is taboo - faith, despair, love, anger, drugs and even cups of tea.

More than just I expected-much more
After listening to the first toe-tapping track a couple of times (which flowed effortlessly from verse to chorus in an upbeat but gritty feel) the lyrics started to sink in and I realised these guys are doing more than just writing and playing songs. The whole album is lagged with life experience. Track after track of
truth and feeling, reflected in memorably composed music, engineered to a very high standard. Shades of rock, folk and even some bluesy sounding work, rounded off at the end by a track called 'Piece of Me'...a brutally simplistic and pure song. All in all its a cracking album. Its proper music by proper musicians and illustrates how much better something will sound when there is meaning behind it. I would urge anyone that does not yet possess this album to go buy it. Its that good.
