Album Notes
This new album "The Fried Greenz" has been in the works for the past 3 years, it is an effort from both Rick Huffman & Allen Goff, along with other fine studio writers & musicians.
“She’s Gotta Be Mine” is a pop tribute to every group we were influenced by from the Sixties through even today , just a good feeling song with lots of strong vocal harmonies , Jim Green doing the “George Harrison/Todd Rundgren guitar slides” and Rick working the instrumental magic that he does so well.
“Our Love (Just Like Linda & Paul)” as the title suggests this is a tribute to the special love between Linda & Paul McCartney with Rick adding all those McCartney instrumental influences & lyrical references to McCartney music.
“Understandably So” as much of my writing came from one of my vivid dreams …a whispery vocal performance with Rick Huffman & Brian Richardson dueling it out between organ & guitar with flashbacks of Zombies, Sugarloaf …maybe a little Steeley Dan
“Don’t Fall In Love Without Me” could’ve been a Chicago album filler with the taste of their great sound, just a uptempo good feeling song.
“Sail Away” we’ve all dreamed of that romantic retreat to the islands but who can afford it these days? Why not put on some romantic island music, your favorite drink & snuggle up with the love of your life, enjoy the evening ..maybe the weekend and just pretend it’s your own little island paradise??
“California Smile” was written from a very rainy winter in Missouri …in fact I think the impression from my nose against the window watching it rain is still there. I spent the evening writing this song and went to the bedroom to sing it my beautiful wife only to hear her snoring before I reached the last chorus … I’ve never let her forget it!!
“Christmas Means Jesus” is a tribute to my love for this season and the true meaning of Christmas. We’ve lost the rewards of “Giving” and sadly it’s more of a “Getting” thing!! The beauty of the Birth of The Beloved Christ Child and the Reason for The Season has almost been lost in commercialism. Once again Jim does an excellent acoustic guitar with a tasty dobro while Rick comes back with a complementing accordian response along with the magical instrumentation that he is known so well for…

Grammy Award Winner records “Every time I fail” by Rick Huffman & Jim Green>>>>>>>One of the highlights of Rick’s music career was having one of his original songs recorded by a Grammy Award winner. In 2008, the original song “Every time I fail” written by Rick & Jim was recorded & released on the CD “Testify” by Grammy Award winner and Gospel Music Legends Edwin Hawkins & Walter Hawkins.
The last several years Rick has been working with Allen Goff. They both have always had a passion for writing original songs. Rick & Allen work out of Allen’s studio “Studio 166”. They have worked on several recording projects, recording other artists & all the while continuing to write original songs. All of this has led to the new group, “The Fried Greenz”, which is an outlet for their original songs............................................ In 2010....The Fried Greenz released the single “Big Little Picher Town”. It is a song written by Allen & Rick about the town of Picher, Ok where Rick grew up. It can be downloaded from a variety of music download outlets including CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Rhapsody, Napster, MySpace Music, Spotify, Liquid Digital, Verizon V-Cast, Shockhound, Nokia,, Zune, MediaNet (formerly MusicNET), Tradebit, GreatIndieMusic, Lime Wire, & Thumbplay
