ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
High Society Torture Party is the debut full-length from Buffalo, NY four-piece, The Fucking Hotlights. Before it was a small stack of vinyl, it was a big stack of money that was rounded up from tending bar, laying down cedar mulch, and collecting unemployment. Half of it was recorded at a world class recording studio, the other half in a sweaty attic and it took half a lifetime to get records from the plant that someone hadn't screwed up along the way.

The band has built up to this release by driving their van all around the East Coast, Midwest, and Canada and releasing a 3-song CD-EP. Along the way, they’ve shared the stage with bands like: Every Time I Die, Monotonix, Shilpa Ray, TV Ghost, Hawks, The Death Set, The Chariot, and HotChaCha among others.

Major influences include: The Jesus Lizard, Amphetamine Reptile Records, Old Grand-Dad, Hunter S. Thompson, Jack Rebney, The Birthday Party, Young Manhood, Free-Floating Abhorrence, late-era Black Flag, Ice-Cold Beer, et cetera...
