Def: The Golden Mean {thuh gohl-duhn meen}– represented by the Greek letter phi, is one of those mysterious natural numbers, like e or pi, that seem to arise out of the basic structure of our cosmos. Unlike those abstract numbers, however, phi appears clearly and regularly in the realm of things that grow and unfold in steps, including all living things, music, and art.

From the bright lights of Vancouver’s night, comes The Golden Mean. A rock band with a medley of sub-genres. A lot of rock, a little emo, meshed with alternative, and metal. This four piece outfit, consist of Russ Kelly, Dan Schold, Justin Schold, and Geoff Petrie.

These individuals have just finished their debut album – Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. Recorded at Greenhouse Studios with producer Jay “Juice” Evjen (Wide Mouth Mason, Todd Kerns, Superbeing, Incura & Pedwell) of JMP Productions. TGM’s “Sinners” is a thick wall of sound, with melodic vocals, rich guitars, pounding drums and bass, and phenomenal sounding effects. The album also includes some featured artists. Ryan Dahle (Age of Electric & Limblifter), playing additional guitar on “Out Before You Knew”, Kyle Gruninger (Incura) singing background vocals on “Devil’s Tower”, and Jenny Galt (Satellite Radio & Rock Star Supernova) acoustic on “Keep Me Guessing”.
