Album Notes

With a signature blend of jazz-fusion, latin, and funk flavor, The Greatest Funeral Ever puts a bold new spin on instrumental music with their much anticipated album. This live-in studio session features energetic, must dance latin tracks like, "Cockfight", and R&B inspired tunes such as "Lyin el Rich E.", while songs like "Snuckout" exude a more retro side of TGFE. With the recent addition of it's horn section, TGFE has been re-inventing their approach to improvisation, which is the foundation of all the songs represented here on "Whistle Test"

Whistle Test successfully exemplifies TGFE's broad scope of genres. The first track "Okavango" begins with a breakdown of the percussion section as doumbek, congas, and tablas pull you into the world beat side of the band. Meanwhile track 2, "Sidewinder", throws in a completely different approach with it's dirty, gritty, rock undertones, smoothed out by the horns prevailing timbre. Each track is something new.
