Album Notes

Since The Grift's formation three and a half years ago in Boulder, CO, enthusiastic and appreciative audience members all over the country have enjoyed their strong blend of creative lyrics, improvisational prowess, and unwavering groove. The Grift's radio-friendly combination of Rock and Funk grows out of influences ranging from The Dave Matthews Band to Dispatch to Stevie Wonder. This diversity gives their sound wide appeal and is backed up by the skills to put it all together into a solid, cohesive show from start to finish.

In the summer of 2001, The Grift completed its first full-length recording, Sleeping Policeman, featuring 15 tracks of original material. The CD, now in its second pressing, is representative of The Grift's live shows, as it combines instrumentals with full vocal tunes. After gaining fans with several successful tours of the East Coast and Midwest, The Grift has chosen Vermont as their base to further focus on these regions. In May 2002, the group trimmed down to a power trio and began touring full-time.

The Grift is:
Clint Bierman - vocals, guitar
Jeff Vallone - bass, vocals
Neil Matthews - drums, vocals
