Album Notes

A samba-loving percussionist, a Sleater-Kinney obsessed guitar-vocalist, an effects pedal-collecting audiofile and a music theory bass zealot. That's a mouthful, but it makes perfect sense when you actually hear it. The Hard to Get have been hitting the LA music scene since March of 2006 with a mix of rock, more rock, creative experimentation, rock and the occasional latin-trombone thing. The first product of their styles collision is “This is the New Business Plan,” a four-song ride through riff-dripping energy, unexpected changes and limitless good ideas. Produced by Michael Eisenstein over the course of several months, the songs feature versatile rock beats, shimmering duo-gendered harmonies, a few well-placed xylophones and guitars that do anything but fuck around. The result is raw purpose mixed with arduous care, which is what this band's all about. And if you love good music, that’s not hard to get at all.
