You find yourself in a cave at the foot of a great mountain range covered with ice and snow. A storm rages on the crags above you as rain and hail descend down the steep mountainside in rushing torrents. In the valley below, the sun shines brightly sparkling off the rivers of this emerald green valley filled with game. You are lying down and you are comfortably covered with a thick, warm animal hide. Behind you, deep in the cavern, some shamans chant the ancient, primal sound of the Universal Mother "HUUUUL", the Sacred Sound of Primordial Creation.
Another hunter is painting pictures on the cave wall of the animals of the plains below: swift horses, the mighty aurochs with his horns down ready for battle, jousting rhinoceroses, majestic cave lions... At the mouth of the cave, a young hunter plays a flute he has made from a mammoth bone as he gazes out onto the valley below. A woman healer dances around you with her rattle stopping here and there over your body to heal and balance your energy. The firelight dances on the cave walls creating eerie shadows. You think you can see some figures in the dark peering back at you with cautious curiosity... You are strangers in this land. In fact, you are the FIRST people of this land which will one day be called "Europe". Your grandfathers came from the Motherland which will one day be called "Africa". You came to this mountain valley tracking herds of Reindeer which followed the retreating seas of ice into this valley. Your hunting party did not intend to travel so far. This was to be your first hunting trip. Unexpectedly, the ice is rapidly returning and has covered over the mountain pass for your return trip. Your hunting party has been isolated in this mountain valley. You have been away from your tribe for many months. The shaman says you will not able to return home... The year is 35,000 B.C and you are among the first people in this new land. You call yourselves "the people" and the elders tell you that you will be the next shaman. You will be responsible for communicating with the spirits of this place and starting a new identity for your people. The only way is forward through the valley to the plains below and west to the sea... What other peoples will you find? Will they be friendly or hostile? Can you guide your people well? This is your initiation. Let yourself fall into the Earth Mother, communicate with the mountains and animal spirits. You will become a mighty people...
