Album Notes
The Joedai Warriors is a musical partnership between the songs of Joe Peters & the musicianship of Michael Kelsey; Second Wind is the fifth release under this name.

Joe Peters is a singer-songwriter who has released eight CDs of original songs since 1998, as well as two other compilations of Americana and Celtic music. Joe can often be found on the coffeehouse and restaurant circuit in the Lafayette, Indiana area, whether as a solo performing songwriter, a duo with the incredible vocalist Linda Hicks, or as a member of the contemporary folk group, Deep & Simple, featuring Linda Hicks (guitar and vocals), and Allison Edberg (violin and viola).

Joe grew up in the American Midwest during the turbulent times of the 1960s and 70s, and his songs hearken back to a time when the youth of the planet sought the experience of peace, love and adventure and expressed this search in their music. Through his own music, Joe hopes to rekindle in others that spark of the seeker of truth on a spiritual journey that was awakened in him long ago by the songs of introspective artists like Cat Stevens, Donovan, the Moody Blues and others.

Joe and his music have been frequently featured on the Local Music Show and Acoustic Blend, WBAA (AM 920), Voice of the Independent Artist (Fm 106.3 & 103.9), and Rock-It Local (FM 95.7). Joe & Linda opened for country superstar, Lorrie Morgan at the Lafayette Theater, and Joe played the Taste of Tippecanoe songwriter stage in 2009, and with Deep & Simple in 2010. Joe’s song, Sail Away (off Pilgrimage) won the first Blooming-Tunes songwriting contest in 2009, and performed with Jennie DeVoe at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater in Bloomington along with other winners. In 2010, Joe was invited to be a judge for the second Blooming-Tunes contest. His original musical slide show, Root of the Matter, will be shown at the 2011 conference of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

October 2012, saw the release of Joe’s third new album of the year, Second Wind by the joedai warriors, with 15 new tracks of collaboration between Joe & Michael Kelsey, with Linda Hicks, Amanda Fletcher and the introduction of Chase Cotton on brass.

February 2012, Over the Edge by the joedai warriors features the exhilarating folk-rock elements of a Joe Peters & Michael Kelsey collaboration, along with Linda Hicks’ harmonies.

February 2012, A Thousand Ways by Linda Hicks & Joe Peters is the first joint release by these two singer-songwriters, featuring impeccable instrumentation, exquisite harmonies and creative arrangements.

July 2010, Joe Peters, under the name the joedai warriors, released his first new album with Michael Kelsey in six years, The Edge of Disaster, with 15 new songs featuring the musical artistry of Michael Kelsey, Linda Hicks, Larry Vesely, Amanda Fletcher, Allison & Eric Edberg, and Kevin Anderson.

December 2008, Pilgrimage, Joe Peters first all acoustic solo album, 14 tracks of original contemporary folk songs, featuring the otherworldly vocals of Linda Hicks, co-produced by Michael Lewis (Traveler’s Dream).

February 2008, Red, Black & Blue, by Joe Peters & Friends, a rockin’ collection of 10 original folk-rock songs backed by a full band, co-produced by Malachi Jaggers.

December 2004, Rebirth, an all original 17-track follow-up collaboration with Lafayette guitar guru & 2004 Guitarmageddon winner Michael Kelsey, released as the joedai warriors.

March 2003, Over the Ocean, by The Social Weevils (Joe played guitar in this Celtic band based in Hanoi, Vietnam), featuring fiddle and recorder.

September 1998, Given Birth, the first release by the joedai warriors, featuring the multi-instrumental talent of Michael Kelsey.
