Album Notes

Aleister Crowley's writings and artwork are a major influence on THELEMA USA. This Chicago-based electronic music project is guided both by Crowley and, like the group's spiritual godfathers COIL, Tibetan Buddhism. The influence of Crowley on this album comes from study of his life, dedication to the Great Work, meditation, and a feeling of being guided by the spirit of Crowley as these tracks were committed to their final form.

THELEMA USA doesn’t claim to have any message from Crowley, but do sense his influence in the recording studio. Some believe that is simply an overall impression left from the study of Crowley’s life and work, while some listeners may glean an actual impression from Crowley himself from across the great divide...THELEMA prefers to think it is both.

THELEMA USA Music For Ritual is intended for both casual listening and as a preparation to enter the twilight world during magick. Use with caution. THELEMA USA music is appropriate for Crowley inspired magickal workings, but is equally suitable for goddess worship, earth magic and meditation. THELEMA asks only that the music here be used as a force for good in such workings.

Turntabling Records (www.turntabling.net) is pleased to bring this group to a wider audience. The Turntabling Records staff feels the music speaks for itself, regardless of the philosophies behind it. That said, Turntabling is curious about the philosophical bent of THELEMA USA and is excited to see how a potential new group of listeners not previously tuned into Turntabling artists will react to both THELEMA and the other projects it offers.
