Great in places but a little inconsistent
author: Steve Gordon
Following a WWII concept story, this is a really good album; but quite inconsistent. The heavier songs are absolutely awesome but more than half of the songs are ballads or slower numbers.
All of The Lifeline are amazing musicians and the songwriting is mostly excellent. The singer is absolutely flawless - possibly one of the best male vocalists I've heard, though very high. The layered violin playing (they have a full-time violinist) defines their sound though it becomes a bit overpowering in places.
All up an original sound with amazing musicians and great songs though I'd like to hear more heaviness.

Something New and Invigorating-- Finally.
author: Lili M.
This album is sophisticated, edgey, powerful, moving, and intense all in one. It is a very worthwhile listen and it is obvious to anyone hearing the songs that these guys don't deserve to be cooped up in chicago, they should be touring the globe and sharing this captivating music with all who are willing to listen. Buy it, listen to it, love it.
