A steamy co-ed coterie of classically-trained musicians fusing chamber music sonorities with Latin– and Middle-Eastern–influenced funk and metal. Violin fireworks. Primal rhythms. Tripped-out lyrics and sound textures. This is The Living.

Formed in 2006, The Living is a collection of highly skilled musicians brought together by the combination of their classical training and their mutual passion for artistic exploration. The band's evocative name reflects its collective belief: that inspiration is all around us and can come from any art form.

Indeed, The Living takes much of its influence from classical composers such as Stravinsky and Ravel, rockers Queen and Mindless Self Indulgence, world artists like Ozomatli and Shakti, and progressive visionaries The Mars Volta, Bjork, and Mike Patton, among many others.
