Album Notes

This project came about while the 2 original members of The Locksmiths were living 2000 miles apart. Cozmos, still based in Boston, MA at the time, would email beats to Tony Mantis down in Austin, TX. The vocals would get recorded and then mixes would get sent back and forth through the webs for tweaking and turntablization. Altogether, the outcome was gritty, rough sounding tracks with song structures more reminiscent of punk than hip-hop, and production techniques more akin to experimental electronic music.

Now reunited in Austin, the two have been joined by DJ Trust to make a trio of versatile hip-hoppers that will be coming to a dive bar near you soon.

Peace!
