'You were right about the stars' was recorded during 2011 at noiselab studios. Most tracks are recorded in the studio with others like 'Carry Me Home' recorded in a lounge room and 'Holy Water' recorded in a motel room at the National Bluegrass Festival, with some of the best hand picked musicians including Peter McLaughlin (Best Bluegrass Guitarist USA 1986), Ross Nickerson, Mark Miracle, Mick Albeck, Jenny Shimmin. The band could not be happier with this album. The songs are so strong and the production just spot on.
If you are going to take a risk and buy one album from an unknown band this year, then this is the album to buy - you will not regret it.
The Mid North are a new bluegrass and americana band out of Bellingen (population 2600). They are fast becoming known for their impressive live shows and great songwriting, so much so that X Train (Ross Nickerson, Peter McLaughlin, Mark Miracle, Bob Denoncourt) have requested to record one of their songs on their next album. This is a new band that will fast become a house hold name in Bluegrass.
