When someone gives their life to Christ, they become a new creature in Christ, Hence the name..."TheNewOne". Ronald "TheNewOne" Hawkins was born in St. Louis Missouri as the youngest in a family of 5. His musical influences include KRS-1, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Scarface, Chuck D, Cameo and George Clinton to name a few. He began writing Christian songs immediately after he gave his life to Christ, and began to record them several months later. Many have enjoyed the lyrics to his songs, as one young man puts it, "He's like a 2003 Chuck D! Everything he says he makes you feel it, plus his lyrics are deep".

"TheNewOne" has finished his next project, 'Son Of A King', which will be released late summer, 2005. He's currently affiliated with a local Entertainment agency named Destiny's Dream Entertainment, (www.destinysdream.org) which is a Christian Entertainment company that books local Christian "acts" to minister at various venues. Through this contact "TheNewOne" has performed at local churches, colleges and restaurants. He's currently poised to do a College tour in 2005, which will also include churches in VA, MD, DC, LA, IL, PA and Jamaica.

His future plans include; Writing more gospel songs for other artist to record; to create a homeless program that would introduce homeless men/woman back into the workforce; Develop a mentoring program that will take at risk teens off the streets and give them an alternative. He also plans on building more Churches with the money that will come forth as a result of his music ministry.

In closing, to quote another listener of "TheNewOne" music, "I think this dude could be the one to bridge the gap between secular and spiritual music. He has the spiritual lyrics, but his delivery style and beats has a secular feel to them".
